Blue Jays Clip Cardinals, 1-0
|
The Dunedin Blue Jays did just enough to sneak past the Palm Beach Cardinals, 1-0, at Roger Dean Stadium. Dunedin pitcher R.J. Louvier, in particular, had a standout performance. Dunedin reliever Troy Anderson picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Zach Gaston was saddled with the loss. Brad Phillips picked up the save for Dunedin, his 2nd of the year.
Dunedin needed the clutch hitting of Bill Curtis to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 1-0. For the game, Curtis had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Dunedin skipper Bob Butler.
At 36-12, the Blue Jays find themselves in first place in the FSL North.
