Blue Jays Snag 3-1 Win
|
Brevard County got a terrific performance from pitcher Jason Dargay, but it wasn't enough to beat the Dunedin Blue Jays. Dunedin won the Florida Auto Exchange Stadium contest, 3-1. Dargay threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The 4th-place Blue Jays improved to 21-26.
Had Devon Smith not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Smith hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Blue Jays.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Smith.
