The Bradenton Marauders topped the Tampa Yankees, 9-4, in Florida State League action at George M. Steinbrenner Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Bradenton pitcher Manny Mejia. The Marauders improved to 23-25.

Early in the game, first baseman Nick Popp had a 2-run triple for Bradenton. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Marauders on top, 2-0.

Popp told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
