In a high-scoring contest between Dunedin and Brevard County, catcher Devon Smith was a difference-maker. Smith, who is tied for 4th in the FSL in doubles with 15, distinguished himself in the 10-9 Dunedin win. He was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Alexis Velasquez earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 5-1. Victor Fonseca, who is tied for 3rd in the FSL with a 9.9 K/9 rate, nailed down the save.

R.J. Lyon had a big 2-run home run for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Dunedin trailing 3-2 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a circle change from Bob Navarro, who is tied for 8th in the FSL in innings pitched with 64.0, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Blue Jays on top, 4-3.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Smith.

The Blue Jays improved to 22-26.
