Threshers Earn Clutch Win, 5-4
The Clearwater Threshers picked up a win at Bright House Field, downing the Dunedin Blue Jays, 5-4. On the mound for Clearwater was right-hander Victor Gonzales, who played a pivotal role in the win. Clearwater reliever Mark Lewis picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Victor Fonseca was saddled with the loss. The 5th-place Threshers improved to 23-30.

The Threshers got a clutch hit from third baseman Jorge Minchala. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Threshers.

"We refused to lose," said winning manager Luis Alvarez.
