Threshers Come Up Short at Tampa, 8-7
George M. Steinbrenner Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Tampa Yankees and Clearwater Threshers.

Mike Larsen made an impact in the 8-7 Tampa win over Clearwater. Larsen was 4 for 4 with 4 singles. The win was credited to Marcos Samaniego in relief. His record improves to 3-0. John Irvin took the loss. Marco Nieves locked down his 2nd save.

Mike Schock drew 1 walk for Tampa. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off John Irvin. It was his 11th RBI of the season.

"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Larsen.

Clearwater has now lost 4 in a row.
