Threshers Deal Mets 3-2 Setback
|
Clearwater picked up a win at Tradition Field, bumping off the St. Lucie Mets, 3-2. Pitcher Matt Knowlton was a major reason the Threshers emerged victorious. Knowlton got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Jon Espinoza collected save number 1.
Craig Wallace had a direct impact on the outcome. Wallace contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Clearwater up, 3-0.
Wallace told reporters after the game: "This one was touch and go, but we were able to put it in the win column."
The Threshers improved to 25-33.
