The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of St. Lucie fans at Tradition Field.

St. Lucie registered a win at Tradition Field by beating the Clearwater Threshers, 7-3. Pitcher Mike Horn was one reason why the Mets triumphed. In 8 innings, Horn surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs.

Mike Pond had a big grand slam home run for the Mets in the bottom of the fifth inning. With St. Lucie leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a sinker from B.J. Bingham, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2106 draft, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Mets on top, 6-1.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Horn.

St. Lucie is first in the FSL South with a record of 42-17.
