Manatees Rack Up 4-3 Win Versus Dunedin
|
The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
Brevard County beat Dunedin at Space Coast Stadium, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to third baseman Carlos Colon. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Carlos Valdez, who is tied for 7th in the FSL with a 9.4 K/9 rate, was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts. Picking up the save was John Kline, his 9th.
In the bottom of the fifth, with the game tied, Dunedin allowed the Manatees to go up, 4-3, on a Dunedin error.
"Carlos was ready to go. Big day for him," said Brevard County manager Rick Mitchell.
The Manatees raised their record to 35-24.
