Blue Jays Snatch Late Win
|
Despite a fine performance by catcher Ricardo Vilches, the Bradenton Marauders lost to the Dunedin Blue Jays, 4-2. Vilches went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Troy Anderson recorded the save for Dunedin, his 9th of the season. The 5th-place Marauders have lost 5 consecutive games.
Dunedin used a clutch hit from Bill Curtis to get the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Curtis.
