The Daytona Tortugas defeated the Bradenton Marauders, 8-2, in Florida State League action at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Daytona pitcher Josh Pogue had a standout performance. Pogue picked up the win for Daytona, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. The win elevated the Tortugas to 38-29.

In the bottom of the second inning, catcher Brian Criss had a 2-run double for Daytona. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Tortugas on top, 3-1.

Daytona manager Bob Rogers was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
