Blue Jays Trump Cardinals, 5-2
|
The Dunedin Blue Jays got a rain-soaked win over the Palm Beach Cardinals.
The Dunedin Blue Jays converted a terrific effort from starter Jeff Sadek into a win over the Palm Beach Cardinals at Roger Dean Stadium. The Blue Jays won the game by a final score of 5-2. Sadek yielded no runs over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-4. The save went to Nathan Reynolds, his 2nd this season.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Elias Colon? The 23-year old first baseman Colon stroked a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Dunedin up, 4-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
Colon attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
Dunedin occupies second place in the FSL North at 33-36.
