Koch Powers Flying Tigers to 8-3 Win
|
The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at Joker Marchant Stadium.
The Lakeland Flying Tigers defeated the Fort Myers Miracle, 8-3, in part because of catcher Matt Koch. Koch went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Flying Tigers. Pat Blair got the win, improving to 4-5. He held the Miracle to 2 runs on 4 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3.
Shortstop Jon Ramirez made an impact for Lakeland, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Joe Donnelly in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Ramirez went 2-4 with a triple, while scoring 2 runs.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Lakeland manager Meka Fabiano.
The third-place Flying Tigers have won 4 consecutive games.
