Tortugas Paste 3-1 Loss on Blue Jays

The Dunedin Blue Jays got a superb performance from pitcher Tony Negron. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Daytona. The Tortugas won the game, 3-1. Negron threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Michael Darilek was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Alex Gonsalez earned the save for Daytona, his 1st of the year.
Ivan Gallegos, the 23-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Gallegos contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Daytona up, 2-1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Daytona manager Justin Rollins.
The Tortugas improve their record to 32-40 with the win over Dunedin.
