Blue Jays Jolt Stone Crabs, 3-1, with Late Rally
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Dunedin Blue Jays and the Charlotte Stone Crabs, pitcher Ricky Nazarian was the difference between victory and defeat. The Dunedin left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Blue Jays win. Ian Benton got credit for the save for Dunedin. It was his 2nd of the year. With the win over Charlotte, the Blue Jays improved to 36-37.
Keith Pierce, who leads the FSL in triples with 8, had a direct impact on the outcome. Pierce contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Dunedin up, 3-1.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Charlotte manager Juan Naranjo.
