Hammerheads Suffer 4-2 Setback
|
Lakeland Flying Tigers starter Raul Castillo turned in a top-notch performance against the Jupiter Hammerheads at Joker Marchant Stadium. The result was a win for the Flying Tigers, 4-2. Castillo got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Castillo allowed 2 runs. Joey Amaya closed the door for Lakeland, picking up his 11th save of the year.
The Flying Tigers got an important contribution from designated hitter Mike Giordano, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a full count slider into right-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Flying Tigers ahead, 2-0.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Shawn Pierre Rodriguez.
The Flying Tigers, at 48-27, sit in second place in the FSL North.
