Alex Zacarias was locked in. The right-hander led the Daytona Tortugas to a 3-2 win against the Brevard County Manatees at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Danny Samico, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. With the win, the Tortugas improved to 34-42.

Cesar Ortiz was the walk-off hero for Daytona. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Tortugas second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Alex was throwing with conviction," said Daytona manager Bob Rogers.
