Davis Lifts Mets to 11-4 Triumph
The St. Lucie Mets topped the Bradenton Marauders, 11-4, with center fielder Mike Davis playing a big role. Davis was 4 for 4 with 3 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs for the Mets in the win. St. Lucie pitcher Brad Wiggins earned the win, hiking his record to 2-3. Matt Skeels suffered the loss. At 38-39, the Mets find themselves in third place in the FSL South.

With St. Lucie leading 5-4 in the top of the seventh, Davis hit a run-scoring single off Bradenton hurler Randy Hanks. It was the 70th hit of the season for Davis and put his team ahead, 6-4.

"No complaints from me," said Mets manager Troy Nelson. "I like what I saw out there."
