Cardinals Run Win Streak to 8
|
The Palm Beach Cardinals picked up a win at Roger Dean Stadium, knocking off the St. Lucie Mets, 4-2. Starting pitcher Alberto Soria was a big reason why. Soria, now 8-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Pat Siegel earned the save for Palm Beach.
Brian Burns hit a 2-run triple off Hector Esparza in the bottom of the third, which put the Cardinals in front, 3-1. Burns had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"We're in some kind of groove right now," said Burns.
Palm Beach bumps their record to 55-22 with the win.
