Stone Crabs Come Back Late to Clip Cardinals
The Palm Beach Cardinals and Charlotte Stone Crabs provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Palm Beach Cardinals wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from starter Paul Horton, falling, 2-1, to the Charlotte Stone Crabs at Charlotte Sports Park. Charlotte reliever Sam Winston picked up the win to move to 5-3. Bobby Hunley suffered the loss.

Charlotte took the lead, 2-1, on Rich Gandara's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Palm Beach pitcher Bobby Hunley in the bottom of the eighth.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Greg Cary.

The last-place Stone Crabs now sit at 25-54.
