3-0 Win Sends Fort Myers to 51-29
|
The Fort Myers Miracle had to overcome a good performance from Dunedin pitcher Florent Loggia to claim a 3-0 win at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. Loggia went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Fidel Zepeda, the winning pitcher, is now 5-4. He went 5.1 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 4. Rafael Felix locked down his 3rd save.
Vince Aristondo had a big 2-run home run for the Miracle in the top of the first inning. With Fort Myers leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Antonio Dunbar, who is tied for 4th in the FSL in strikeouts with 103, and punished it. The result was his 14th home run of the season, which put the Miracle on top, 3-0.
Said Dunedin manager Quinn Autrey: "When you don't score, it's never a good thing."
The win puts the Miracle at 51-29, while the Blue Jays drop to 48-32.
