Fort Myers Earn 6-1 Victory at Space Coast Stadium
|
The Fort Myers Miracle topped the Brevard County Manatees, 6-1, with youngster Matthew Robertson playing a key role. Robertson was 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Miracle in the win. Mike Ambrosio earned the win, while 21-year old right-handed pitcher Jody Robinson took the loss for Brevard County. Ryan Benjamin earned the save, his 4th.
Shortstop Juan Herrera made an impact for Fort Myers, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Jody Robinson in the top of the fourth. For the contest, Herrera went 2 for 5 with a triple.
Robertson told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
Fort Myers is third in the FSL South with a record of 49-33.
