Cardinals 1B Whitehead has 5 RBI in Win
|
Behind the hitting of Johnny Whitehead, the Palm Beach Cardinals stopped the Dunedin Blue Jays, 6-1. Whitehead was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Cardinals. Mike DeLuke converted his 14th save in 17 tries. The Cardinals now have a mark of 39-46.
Early in the game, Whitehead had a 3-run home run for Palm Beach. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Cardinals on top, 4-1.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Whitehead told the Palm Beach Gazette. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
