Marauders Get Clutch Win, 2-1
|
The inspired effort of Dunedin center fielder Tanner Segovia was not enough to prevent a loss, 2-1, to the Bradenton Marauders. Segovia went 1 for 3 with a home run. Alex Garcia, now 8-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 4.1 innings. The 4th-place Marauders now sit at 41-46.
Tim Schmahl was the walk-off hero for Bradenton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Marauders pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"That was high adrenalin and it was fun," Schmahl said.
