Tortugas Suffer 4-3 Loss to Threshers
|
The Clearwater Threshers knocked off the Daytona Tortugas, 4-3, in Florida State League action at Bright House Field. Clearwater pitcher and Federal Way, Washington, native Kevin Kendrick had an outstanding performance. Marcos Montijo recorded the save for Clearwater, his 1st of the season. The win puts the Threshers at 37-53, while the Tortugas drop to 42-48.
Clearwater went in front, 3-1, on Nick Guth's 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Guth hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Daytona pitcher Alex Romero visibly perturbed.
"That's what this team is about," said Guth, "picking each other up."
