The Daytona Tortugas defeated the Tampa Yankees, 5-1, in Florida State League action at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Daytona pitcher Michael Darilek had a standout performance. In 6.2 innings, Darilek surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Earning the save was Alex Gonsalez. He's now cashed in 3 of 3 save opportunities.

Ivan Gallegos went 2 for 4 with a double. He scored 2 times for Daytona. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Ryan Serl. It was his 49th RBI of the season.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Tortugas manager Justin Rollins, "I like our chances."

The Tortugas saw their win-loss record go to 39-53. At the same time, the Yankees fell to 30-62.
