The rain came, as predicted, but the Charlotte Stone Crabs and Palm Beach Cardinals were able to complete their ballgame.

The Charlotte Stone Crabs picked up a win at Charlotte Sports Park, knocking off the Palm Beach Cardinals, 5-3. Starting pitcher Jason Lento played a key role in the triumph. Lento got the win, improving to 8-6. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Lento allowed 3 runs.

Eric Watts, who is tied for 9th in the FSL in triples with 5, helped out the Charlotte cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times.

"Jason -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Stone Crabs manager Tyler J. Alexander. "He was the key to us winning."

Today's win puts Charlotte at 68-26, while Palm Beach falls to 41-53.
