The Jupiter Hammerheads picked up a win at Roger Dean Stadium, knocking off the Palm Beach Cardinals, 4-2. Starting pitcher Joe Reiling played a key role in the triumph. Reiling went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-12. Danilo Aquino earned his 3rd save in 4 chances.

The Cardinals had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Hammerheads going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old center fielder Victor Valdez came to the plate. Valdez hit a 2-run double on a 1-1 cutter from Palm Beach hurler Mike DeLuke. It was Valdez's 9th double of the year.

"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Reiling.

After today's action, Jupiter sits at 19-77, while Palm Beach falls to 42-54.
