Arrington Helps Cardinals Beat Marauders, 13-5
|
In the 13-5 Palm Beach win over Bradenton, the impact of Jason Arrington was substantial. Arrington went 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. Simon Juneau got the win, improving to 11-6. He held the Marauders to 5 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 6. The third-place Cardinals sport a record of 53-44.
Jack Machamer had a big grand slam home run for the Cardinals in the top of the fourth inning. With Palm Beach leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Elijah Mitchell and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Cardinals on top, 6-1.
"Winning is always a team effort," Machamer said after the game.
