Getting a good performance from catcher Daniel Morales, the Daytona Tortugas defeated the Tampa Yankees, 4-3. Morales went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Tortugas. Daytona is now 42-55, Tampa 31-66.

Morales had a timely hit for Daytona in the top of the seventh. With Tampa trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-0 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 4-2, Daytona.
