McDowell Holds Charlotte Scoreless
In a seemingly effortless performance, Jack McDowell of the Daytona Tortugas shot down the Charlotte Stone Crabs, 3-0, on 7 hits.

"Jack was just locating so well and using his pitches," Daytona manager Luis Portillo said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

McDowell recorded 13 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Charlotte manager Victor Beltran said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."

McDowell has gone 4-5 this season with an ERA of 3.40 and 72 strikeouts in 79.1 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .279 against him.
