Miracle Slap 2-1 Loss on Blue Jays

The Fort Myers Miracle topped the Dunedin Blue Jays, 2-1, in Florida State League action at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Fort Myers pitcher John Gongloff. Gongloff, now 11-10, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Fort Myers is now 62-41, Dunedin 72-31.
Fort Myers first baseman Jeremy DiCicco contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a sinker into right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 72nd hit of the season and put the Miracle ahead, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Fort Myers manager Bashir Mothudi said.
