Lakeland Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Lakeland Flying Tigers racked up a win at Joker Marchant Stadium, bumping off the Bradenton Marauders, 5-2, in 10 innings. Jose Valtierra, who started for Lakeland, pitched effectively for his team. At 43-61, Lakeland is in 5th place in the FSL North.
The decisive blow was delivered by Steve Bruno in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 3-run home run off 23-year old left-handed pitcher Rocky Pilgrim to win the game for Lakeland. The home crowd went nuts.
"Jose did what Jose does," said Lakeland manager Meka Fabiano.
