Threshers Beat Mets, 3-2, at Bright House Field
Mike Miller pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The St. Lucie Mets, despite Miller's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Clearwater Threshers at Bright House Field. Santiago Gurule earned the win for Clearwater. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 7-17. Kasper van den Tillaart closed it out for his 1st save.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Threshers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when designated hitter Jim Unknown hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Mike Miller and made the score 3-2, Threshers. Unknown was 2 for 3 with 2 singles.

"Every loss hurts," said St. Lucie manager Felipe Guerrero. "But this was a tough one."

The Threshers go to 12-93 with the win.
