Blue Jays Hang 3-2 Loss on Cardinals
|
Joe Stratton pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Palm Beach Cardinals, despite Stratton's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Dunedin Blue Jays at Roger Dean Stadium. Wayne Lambert finished the game for Dunedin and earned his 7th save. The 'W' lifts Dunedin's record to 52-52.
Tom Lazier, who is tied for 4th in the FSL in triples with 5, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lazier contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Dunedin up, 3-2.
"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Greg Cary.
