The Clearwater Threshers defeated the Lakeland Flying Tigers, 6-4, in Florida State League action at Bright House Field. Clearwater pitcher Jayden Stephens had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Stephens, now 9-8. He tossed 7.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 6 and fanning 4. Their 30-76 record puts the Threshers last in the FSL North.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Daniel Flores didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Lakeland trailing 6-4, Flores retired Alex Pacheco to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Flores, with a wink.
