The Daytona Tortugas knocked off the Tampa Yankees, 2-1, in Florida State League action at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Daytona pitcher and Las Matas de Farfan, Dominican Republic, native Jesus Reyes had an outstanding performance. Reyes picked up the win for Daytona, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 8-2. Daytona has won 4 straight games.

Tied up with the Yankees in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Tortugas got a boost from shortstop Lionello Visconti. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Visconti saw a 2-0 fastball from J.P. Van Nostrand and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Daytona on top, 2-1.

"Tough loss," said Tampa manager Ernesto Blanco. "This one will sting for a while."
