Cardinals Rally For 3-1 Win
The Palm Beach Cardinals had to overcome a fine effort from Fort Myers pitcher John Gongloff to grab a narrow 3-1 win at Hammond Stadium. Gongloff went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Palm Beach pitcher Robby Payne got the win. He's now 3-3. Diego Valdes was tagged with the loss. Raul Cirilo finished to wrap up his 12th save.

Palm Beach used the timely hitting of Matt Carter to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cardinals ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

Carter called the win "a team effort."
