The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

The Daytona Tortugas converted a terrific effort from starter Bill Penn into a win over the Bradenton Marauders at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The Tortugas won the game by a final score of 8-2. Penn went the distance for Daytona. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits.

The Marauders had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Tortugas going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old shortstop David Sepulveda came to the plate. Sepulveda hit a run-scoring double on a 0-1 changeup from Bradenton hurler Joe Winfield. It was Sepulveda's 10th double of the year.

"I'll be honest," said Penn. "I didn't have much left in the tank."

Daytona occupies second place in the FSL North at 66-43.
