The performance of Craig Dennison proved critical in helping St. Lucie beat Palm Beach, 3-2. The Mets shortstop went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. Gene Allen picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 8-3. Raul Cirilo was tagged with the loss. Tyler Allen closed the door for St. Lucie, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Cesar Contreras's at-bat with one out in the top of the tenth was crucial. The St. Lucie pinch hitter hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
Contreras told a St. Lucie Today reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
