St. Lucie third baseman Justin Reed contributed significantly to his team's 13-7 win over the Tampa Yankees. Reed went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Mets. Zach Bird earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 4.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-1. St. Lucie goes to 64-45, Tampa to 43-66.

Reed had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth to put St. Lucie in front, 6-4. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Tampa pitcher Marcos Samaniego.
