Miracle Drop Tortugas, 2-1
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Fort Myers Miracle and the Daytona Tortugas. Fort Myers won it, 2-1. Fort Myers starter Juan Olave was in command. The winner was Manny Dominguez in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Steve McLaughlin took the loss. Fort Myers now has a 3-game win streak.
The knockout blow came in the bottom of the tenth inning. That's when second baseman Matt Reagan stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and hit a run-scoring single, to win the ballgame.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Bashir Mothudi, the Fort Myers skipper.
