Tony Sanchez did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Fort Myers Miracle from losing, 8-6, to the Daytona Tortugas at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Sanchez was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Reliever Michael Hogan picked up the win. His record improves to 5-4. Alex Ontiveros took the loss. The Tortugas raised their record to 51-65.

Jose Arocha went 1 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Daytona. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Alex Ontiveros. It was his 38th RBI of the season.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Arocha, "but we got it done."
