The Tampa Yankees took on the Palm Beach Cardinals at Roger Dean Stadium.

Palm Beach wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Art Cathcart, falling to the Tampa Yankees, 7-2. Cathcart threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The Yankees raised their record to 41-75.

Tampa used the timely hitting of Zack Fross to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Yankees on top, 6-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Yankees manager Mitch Renfer.
