Flying Tigers Win, 5-1, Versus St. Lucie
The Lakeland Flying Tigers topped the St. Lucie Mets, 5-1, in Florida State League action at Tradition Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Lakeland pitcher Ricardo Batista. The winner was Batista. He threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Bert Reed. Orlando Vigil earned the save, his 5th.

Collin Dean provided a timely hit. The Lakeland shortstop delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Flying Tigers on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Dean told the Lakeland Chronicle.

At 52-65, the Flying Tigers are currently 5th in the FSL North.
