The Clearwater Threshers picked up a win at Roger Dean Stadium, downing the Palm Beach Cardinals, 4-2. On the mound for Clearwater was right-hander Matt Knowlton, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Threshers improved their record to 55-64 by beating Palm Beach.

Reinaldo Serpa had a direct impact on the outcome. Serpa contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Clearwater up, 3-2.

"You try to throw strikes and keep the game within reach," said Knowlton.
