The Tampa Yankees wasted an impressive 6.2-inning effort from starter Steve Luker, falling, 2-1, to the Bradenton Marauders at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Luis Sierra, who is tied for 8th in the FSL in holds with 5, nailed down the save. Bradenton occupies 5th place in the FSL South at 55-67.

Bradenton used a timely hit from Mark Wight to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Marauders ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We busted our tails," said Tampa manager Ernesto Blanco. "But we came up short."
