Lakeland pitcher Craig Hood did his part in helping his team beat the Fort Myers Miracle, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Miguel Gandara was credited with the save for Lakeland, his 4th of the season. With the win, Lakeland upped its record to 75-47.

Lakeland relied on the hitting of Zachary Burgess to pick up the win. The right fielder ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the third inning to put the Flying Tigers on top, 3-0. For the game, Burgess had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"This was a nice win for us," said Hood. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
