Velasco Leads Clearwater to 4-0 Win
Despite the rain, the fans at Bright House Field enjoyed a good ballgame.

The Clearwater Threshers went home winners at Bright House Field, thanks in large part to starter Mario Velasco. Velasco stifled the Bradenton Marauders, enabling Clearwater to grab the 4-0 win. Daniel Flores earned the save, his 10th in 11 tries.

Velasco was in the zone all game. He frustrated Bradenton hitters while giving the Threshers 8.1 innings of quality work. Velasco threw 122 pitches, allowing 8 hits and getting 11 punchouts.

"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Rob Suleymanov.

The 5th-place Threshers improved to 38-86.
