Marauders Sink Hammerheads, 3-0
|
Paul Gualtieri, who is tied for 2nd in the FSL in complete games with 5, pitched well, but the Jupiter Hammerheads still fell short, losing, 3-0, to the Bradenton Marauders at Calvin Falwell Field. Mat Richards earned save number 7 this season. The win makes Bradenton 68-59.
David Windsor had a big run-scoring double for the Marauders in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Bradenton leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Paul Gualtieri, who is tied for 2nd in the FSL in complete games with 5, and swatted a double to right. It was his 24th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Marauders ahead, 2-0.
Afterward, Marauders manager Cameron Morris was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
