|
Blue Jays second baseman Jared Kuna left his imprint on his team's 7-4 win over the Daytona Tortugas. Kuna was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Dunedin in the contest. Jeff Sadek, who is tied for 8th in the FSL with a 8.4 K/9 rate, was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Victor Fonseca, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 14th save.
Dunedin designated hitter Eddie Aguinaga contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 103rd hit of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 7-4.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Aguinaga told the Dunedin Daily. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
The Blue Jays now own a record of 65-61.
