The Clearwater Threshers, with some walk-off drama, delighted their fans at Bright House Field.

Brevard County got a valiant performance from pitcher Andy Dale, but it wasn't enough to beat the Clearwater Threshers. Clearwater won the game, 3-2. Dale threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Reliever James Costello picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Ian Messinger, who is tied for 2nd in the FSL in saves with 22, took the loss.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Clearwater. That's when Scott Keys, the 10th overall pick in the 2108 draft, hit a bases-clearing double off Ian Messinger to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"That was a backyard tug-of-war," said Threshers manager Frank Ricker.

The Threshers are now 79-50, while the Manatees fall to 66-63.
